The company was founded in the late sixties as shipping agents, stevedores, customs and forwarding agents in the ports of Bata, Malabo and Luba. After Independence, the company continued and steadily increased its operations up to the present day. It is one of the few companies which has survived since colonial times.

With the recent advent of oil exploration in Equatorial Guinea, Besora Maritima,  has increased its activity proportionately and together with its traditional shipping, forwarding and stevedoring is today, the principal company handling the logistics of the oil exploration companies

Besora Maritima has long been a member of BIMCO and is now also an associate member of INTERTANKO for its tanker loading operations with OPITO accredited personnel. Besora Marítima is a certified member in good standing of TRACE International Inc – USA.

As well as being one of the few stevedoring companies in W. Africa employing full time Health, Safety Enviroment officers, Besora Maritima is fully covered by extensive insurance policies with reliable international insurance companies.
